post your desktop! show me...

I have two monitors hooked up to my system, one upper and one lower, here's the desktops. The one on the left is my upper monitor, the right is my lower, these pictures were taken at the windfarm I was recently erecting. They were taken in February 2007:

 

I am running XP Pro and neither the sidebar or Rocket Dock appear to have slowed things down much.

It's only a bit of fun and tidier than those screens with all the messy shortcuts pasted everywhere.

 

Just a heads up. I tried the sidebar and it did slow my PC down...but it is a 5 yr. old 1.8GHZ P4 with only 512MB RAM. The Object Dock works fine with it tho.

 

Pentium M 1.7ghz and 512mb here on a 2 year old insurance replaced FS Amilo Pro V2040 laptop.

I have 'tweaked' it with the help of MG but it's up to each individual to suss out if ANY application has detrimental effects to their machine.

This is my home computer now, i wanted to make it look a bit maccish, so i installed the objectdock bar and it's really neat!

 

That's so true. I have tried some that slowed other PC's but not mine and vice versa.

As I said I was only messing about with the sidebar and I too don't really see a need.

Probably go back to using Rainlendar with Rocket Dock.

 

I'm finding Windows Live Messenger hangs a bit after minimizing to Rocket Dock.

Anyone else?

It's been about a year since I posted anything. I change my desktop alot. I like to use my own pictures most of the time.

 

Which network monitor is that? Which recycle bin gadget?

Thanks to Halo for the desktop showing the recycle bin gadget. Finally got all icons off my desktop.

 

We're using the Vista Sidebar and gadgets, Laura. The App Launcher is the one you need for putting your icons into. Drag the .exe icons into App Launcher, then you can delete your desktop shortcuts.
This is supposed to work for XP.
