Remote Hack Help

Hello,

Let me start off by thanking you guys for the community technical support you provide. You have helped me remove malware a few times in the past.

I'm in need of your expertise once again. My neighbor who is 60+ told me he was trying to watch a movie online from a free website. An ad popped up from "Microsoft" saying the computer had been infected with a virus, and he needed to call some 1800 number to remove it.

Unfortunately, he isn't tech savvy and called the number. The scammers convinced him to allow them to connect remotely. While remotely connected, they claimed there was 11 people watching his every move and told him to press the Window key + R (I'm guessing to run whatever they planted). After trying to convince him to pay $300 which he wouldn't, they hung up.

Now he thinks they have been trying to access his computer again. Sometimes his computer randomly shuts off, as well as the cursor moving and random programs opening.

I completed the read and run me first, but I'm wondering if I should wipe the computer and re-install windows as well. If someone could look over the logs and provide some advice that would be helpful.
