    Dears,

I have a laptop (Windows10) that seems to be infected with a virus. Problem is that I am not able to run the steps from the READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware Removal Guide.

Here is why, even the at login screen, the mouse pointer is moving around and clicking all the time. The few time I did manage to login, the mouse pointer is moving up and down and clicking, so several windows get opened, and I cannot download any software on it.

I did manage to reset factory defaults in the beginning (problem was a little less at the start) so windows 10 was re-installed (from windows menu), but the problem came back almost immediately after.

I then tried to create the Kaspersky Rescue Disk (on another laptop), and booted from that one, but very quickly, the same random moving and clicking appeared, so I was also not able to run the scan.

So now I'm stuck, and have no idea how to continue, could anyone help out?

The Kaspersky Rescue Disk based on Linux, so your problem sounds more like a hardware issue with the touchpad.

Ok that was my second thought too, but how can I be sure? If touchpad could be disabled, the problem should disappear, no? Would it be possible to disable it in safe mode?

You can try booting into safe mode and see if the issues continue.

I tried to investigate further on hardware issues, and in the end it seemed to be the touch screen that had a hardware problem. The moment I switched touch screen off, the problem disappeared. So laptop is fine, can now only be used without touch screen...no virusses luckily

Good to know. Perhaps you can pursue this in the hardware forum.
