Spooler Subsystem App has encountered an error

    I'm running Vista and have had the same printer for two years..today I get this error message. Is this a virus? I've done all the troubleshooting on Microsoft website including downloading a troubleshooter but it gives me an error message as well. What do I need to do fix this?

    My spooler hangs from time to time. I stop the spooler service then restart it. (I'm running XP and 2K)

    1. Start , then run and type in cmd <enter>
    2. type this
    Code:
     net stop spooler
net start spooler
    There are 2 lines; press enter after typing each line. Then reboot.
