    Running Win 10

Waterfox asked me to update which I did but now it will not work, I have deleted and re-installed but it still will not work. I get a page with "new tab" flashing on top left corner but any address I put in nothing happens.
I think this is more than just a problem with waterfox update, my printer will not print unless I restart my pc and after I sign in as it loads it prints.
I have been into windows security to do a scan and it works for about 25 seconds and then stops and will not go any further the same with Malwarebytes it gets to scanning file system and just hangs

    Thanks for any help.

Please download the latest version of FRST the below link.
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: Make sure you download the proper version ( 32 bit or 64 bit ) for your PC. Only one will run, the correct one. So it you make a mistake and download the wrong one, go back and get the other.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

FRST64 was blocked because it could harm your device.

Go to where you downloaded it and right click it and "Run as Administrator"

I did not knowingly download this update it just messaged me to restart to install.
Have paused it until next month.

I was referring to the First64 download...go to that file and right click it and choose "Run as Administrator".

The file is saved in downloads as "unconfirmed 578966.crdownload"
There is no "Run as Administrator" just open with.

SAS indicates you are running from a limited account. Is that true? That might be the cause of your issues.

    Hi thanks for your e-mail.
I am not on a limited account, I am English but live in France, not sure if that makes any difference.

A limited account would restrict you from installing software. You need to be logged into an Administrative account.

    Operating System Information
    Windows 10 Home 64-bit (Build 10.00.18363)
    UAC On - Limited User

I am not on a limited account what ever is on my PC is stopping me from logging into my Administrative account. I am not in an office its just me at home on my PC.

I went into Windows security > virus and threat protection > virus and threat protection settings and the on off switch was there but when I tried to move it a got a message saying "only an admin can change this setting" Now when I go back to that page there is no switch and against all the options it says "no actions needed"

You need to answer my question. Please type in the search box.....control panel....when it opens, click on user accounts and tell me what is there.

    It says credential manager.

What says it? Does it show any user accounts??

You need to post in the software forum to get instructions on logging into an Administrator account, because until you can do that, you can't run any of the requested scans so I can't help you with malware removal until you can.

    Hi.
Please find attached logs that I managed to get.
Hitmanpro ran until "classifying 99%" and was stuck on "c:\windows\winhlp32.exe"
    MGtools would not download.

    Please go here > https://www.zemana.com/Download
their program is no longer free, but you can use the demo version for this cleaning.

It auto updates, and you click scan. After it's finished, click on the icon that looks like Cell phone strength bars. High-light the report (by date log was produced) and click on the "Open Report" icon. (looks like a folder). That notepad.txt can then be copied/pasted into another .txt doc and saved. Upload that, please.

Have run Zemana it found nothing, went to reports and there is nothing there, I can see a box with Date & Time but it is empty, should I run it again?

No, it just confirms that you have no malware on your system. I suggest that you return to your software thread and try working thru any suggestions as to why your system is having issues. Much of which was probably due to running in a limited account.
