    I'll be right over!!! :-D:-D

I could use a good party!! I spent all day yesterday at the hospital, then back again today. But the wife's surgery went well and with an epidural, she is doing very well!! Quite comfortable and is managing to move around with not too much difficulty. Way far better than the last time around. So we are hoping her stay won't be as long as the last one. ;)

Excellent! Glad to hear she's doing well!

I apparently am also a miracle child. Surgery Tuesday, with a hole big enough to require 17 staples, and if I can manage to not hit the morphine button tonight they want to send me home tomorrow.

  3. Caliban

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

Congrats to both of you! :)

    Here ya go, Tim:

Well...I have miserably failed on the refraining from morphine thing. However, it is NOT my fault. At the same time I was to increase my physical activity, the nursing staff has decided that since I have a morphine pump they don't need to give me the other two pain meds. Meh. I'll go home later.

Very interesting area from what I know of it, covers a lot of the body, so a hell of a lot to learn still as grads still (if in US is like UK) need to start from the bottom again as a junior, I help train the Ophthalmology junior grades as well as some sub consultant ones, in diagnostics and images, the eye a small part of the body but still wow one hell of a lot to know as its complex and even has specialisms in front of eye middle and back (being general over the real terminology)

Well as you say "shrinks" are needed more these days than ever, but its a very open area and very objective in diagnosis, can be a lucrative area of medicine though with private practice.

I can only imagine battlefield medicine and even seeing the documentaries on TV from the front line med units is gruesome, but as you say you are first in line for triage and that quickness can save lives, so its army medics like yourself that need a hell of a lot of praise for the thankless task you do under enemy fire a lot of the time.

    Tim and Di

That is the best news I have had in ages, I'm really happy that the surgery went well and I know we chatted in passing on the surgeon and was he good and seems so! Give Di all my best for a speedy recovery :)

Well...who knew Tylenol 3 with codeine came in liquid form? Also 800mg ibuprofen. Methinks this is going to work, as I not only can get out of bed with minimal pain, but just voluntarily walked a lap around the floor...the long way. LOL

I have a very cool scar. According to my surgeon's assistant, he only does the curvy one for people he really likes. :-D

Shoot...I should've taken a picture when I still had staples! Now it's all covered in tape. Perhaps after there is more healing. LOL

I'm not paying for this one, Rikky. I got insurance again! :-D

Thanks! I believe I am the only zombie I brought home, but there wasn't much choice involved. LOL I have a 10 lb. lifting limit and am restricted to a liquid diet for two weeks, so recovery had darn well better be fast! LOL

FIRST thing they told me didn't count. Apparently I wasn't as subtle as I thought when I asked if carbonated beverages were OK after they told me no bread. LOL S'ok...I have narcotics. :-D

Well, according to one of my sisters I'm going to become a drug addict because I'm taking medically prescribed narcotics, so probably I shouldn't subject you to the same fate. :p I can't even promise you cake, although I do have ice cream! LOL

Great to see you are doing better Sgt. Tibbs. :major

Today, I got the stuff to make Mom a sugar free chocolate pie, and a bottle of wine for her for Mother's Day. (She is diabetic)

Then I sanded down the shaft on a Wilson Combat Extended Slide Release so it will work in my .45 pistol. AND, found out I am actually going to get to beta test something! Getting free custom hand made grips for the .45, all the guy wants is feedback. LOL, he will get that!

When I get the grips, I will post something in the Lounge, assuming a gun parts 'review' is acceptable.

    Don't forget Mothers Day... :-D

T'was a very busy week for me!

Monday: Work then went to friends office to fix the PCs.
Tuesday: Work then grocery shopping then practice.
Wed: Work then dinner over a friends house.
Thurs: Work then church then out for ice cream with friends.
Friday: Work then the mall with a friend. He kept telling me I needed to dress my age but he kept picking out these granny bedsheet looking moo-moos for me to try on. We had many fights over clothes. LOL
Sat: outreach then to a different mall (solo this time :-D) and then to the concert.
Sunday: Church and then I want to go back to the mall and get this one shirt that I love but in a different color!

    So tired :zzz

Your sister is obviously jealous that you legally obtained said narcotics and she has to buy them down on the street corner with the rest of the junkies and crack heads ;)

I doubt it. It's one thing to control pain for a relatively short time compared to liking the effects. Of course if you do over use them then you will be chemically hooked. I'm sure that won't happen to you but it is always a concern.;) Meditation always helps me to release those natural endorphins.:)

LOL She is going to HATE that her ignorance has been a gift that keeps on giving, and that she is being mocked all over the internet!! roflmao

Of course, someone would have to tell her... :innocent

Today I cut back to one pill every six hours instead of the two every four prescribed, and it seems to be OK. I shan't worry about it. LOL

LOL @ the gift that keeps on giving.:-D Wow, that's a serious reduction! Main thing I found was insomnia. Heck, if you can do that then you're fine.;) BTW, I ain't gonna tell her either, I'll leave that up to you.:p roflmao

Today I am struggling with an odd facial tick.

The tick is coming from choking back the desire to shoot a coworker. She took all my source code for the project I am working on and ran it through a spell checker, and told it to fix all errors. Then told the higher ups that my code wasn't working correctly.

I want to cry, or throw a grenade into her office, haven't decided which.

  44. Sgt. Tibbs

    Sgt. Tibbs Ultra Geek

Words fail me. Seriously?!? Does she require help breathing, or does her autonomic nervous system actually work better than her central nervous system?

Good lord. That's making ME twitch, and I have nothing to do with it!

  45. LauraR

LauraR MajorGeeks Super-Duper Administrator Staff Member

Isn't it backed up, BM? I'd think you'd easily be able to rectify this...besides by shooting the coworker, that is. But dayum, she sound like a real, er, gem.

This is for Dy...I bought myself a few pairs of shoes from Zappos to try on. They'll be here tomorrow. Yay!:-D Other than that, I unloaded the dishwasher, did laundry and got my nails done. It's raining and just gross here. It's downright depressing.

  46. Burning_Monkey

    Burning_Monkey MajorGeek

Recovering the source code from her error fixes was trivial.

Recovering my reputation from her constant assualts is a bit more difficult, and that is more of what is really annoying me at this point.

  47. LauraR

So, you can't go in calmly to you boss and point out what she did? I'd think that would show her underhanded method of hurting your reputation

That's what I would try. If the code works, I would let him know that and that it doesn't work when someone tries running a spell checker on it. :major
