Well played through Resident Evil 5 yesterday.
Great game and if you're a resi evil fan then you should give it a go.
Although I will say don't expect the creepy "Make you jump out your pants" type game because this one has little to no creep or jump factor.
It is resi evil, characters, weapons, gameplay etc, it's all there including the storyline..... but it just doesn't really feel like RE.
Great game, should have been call "Zombies in Africa" :-D

Still considering DOW:2 Retribution to be the best RTS game out there. For people not into SC2 it is definetely worth a shot!

Well I just picked up Deus Ex HR for my PC so I'm playing that mainly love that game very good!

Other than that I play some Minecraft lol and I also play Killing Floor. I mean who doesn't love blowing a zombies head off?

My Xbox 360 games are just kinda gathering dust right now but I'm considering playing Rage again.

And I'm looking forward to trying out Guild Wars 2 would be the first game like it I have played.

Amalur and Skyrim are sucking my free time away ....especially skyrim.

Amalur turned out to be one of those love hate relationships. I hate the camera closeness, but keep getting drawn into it for some reason.

Skyrim....well its skyrim. There is no equal, period.

In the past month I've played Batman Arkam Asylum, good game. NBA 2K12, great game. Currently playing Mass effect 3!!! Finally... Love this one. And I just started Alan Wake. It';s really good so far. I do not like the over the left shoulder camera. Every freaking shooter I've ever played it's always been over the right shoulder cam, but the story so far is awesome. And if you never played Mass effect series... GO GET ME3. It's great. I did however like the combat from the second one better. Happy gaming!!!:cool

HOLY SNAP!! I forgot the other one I just finished... Kingdoms of Amalur. I thought is was good. Not great... kinda felt like sacred 2 fallen angels.. for those of you who played it. kinda sorta like diablo EQ. The story was missing something.... not sure what but is was worth 60 bucks. I'll get bak on it after a few months of ME3!! ;)

    DOA MG's Loki

Slowly giving up on SWTOR and returning to WoW.
Playing a Gunslinger was fun while new but PVP is just a stunfest and PVE has insufficient content. I would continue to PVE but the character control does not seem to be improving. Even with 35ms ping I lack the smooth control I expect from online games. Things like being hit two or three times through walls when I LOS a mob ruin the gameplay.

Ordering ME3 soon as I log here. :)

  22. Nedlamar

In the numbers it's almost level at minimum req., high settings have some variations but still not much.
However, I believe Skyrim is harder to run smoothly due to the sheer size and draw distance, although Crysis has many more particle effects.
Having said that, I haven't played Crysis 2 on my current rig.

I installed Half Life 2 today, had a play on that, you know, even after all these years it still looks damn good, they really nailed lighting effects in that game.
I'm hoping the next game lives up to it's predecessors.

I haven't been playing anything since we got The Puppy. :(

No social life, no gaming, no movies, no books... all I do all evening long is follow a furry tornado around the house and take things out of her mouth, while telling her "no bite!". She's so lucky I'm in hopeless puppy-love with her. :p

  24. Rikky

Rikky Wile E. Coyote - One of a kind

I love the video in HL2 still, its not just the video though its freedom of movement I like that makes the graphics seem really fluid just like in the original.

They don't rush the half life's either and they don't need to really its not like valve/steam will be running out of money anytime soon, every 10 years they bring one out so should be due 2015:-D

I'm playing on fallout new vegas still 140 hours in:cool I'm just finishing up the last expansion pack I decided to play Old world blues, its pretty good but not great not enough character interactions for me it's all solo missions searching factory complexes.

My favourite of all four expansion packs is The lonesome road.

Should finish up pretty soon then back to the main quest see how that turns out, then I think I'm gonna re-install Oblivion,I played on that game for over a 100 hours too and didn't close a single gate:-D I just explored and collect stuff so think I'll finish that and see how the main story ends uprolleyes

  25. Nedlamar

    Nedlamar MajorGeek

I got that when it got released, actually I bought the FNV steam pack for $59.99, it then went on sale 3 weeks later for $19.99 dammit lol
But I was really looking forward to the Lonesome Road because it all just seemed... almost creepy and obviously very lonely.
I have to admit though I was a little disappointed, it didn't deliver what I was expecting, it's perfectly possible that I was expecting too much.
Awesome as it was I just thought it could have been more awesome.

@gloozit... yeah I have that problem too, I get stuck on the laptop, unfortunately my laptop is only capable of running games up to and including Railroad Tycoon 2 lol
I'm intending on rebuilding my old machine for the missus ;)

  32. Rikky

Rikky Wile E. Coyote - One of a kind

Batman Arkham city and I have to say its one of the best games ever made:) Even better than Arkham Asylum, the DX11 graphics are amazingly detailed if not flawed by the constant load stutters,I've been tempted to play it on DX9 just for the smoothness but DX11 is just too purdy a DX 10 option would have been better.

I don't like beat em ups but this is different,I decided to play it first run on hard which is quite a challenge and I'm simultaneously regretting and enjoying in equal measure.

I'd forgotten what it was like to be frustrated with a game as most of the games I play on you can think your way through like mass effect and fallout with this you just have to think on your feet and have the reactions of a gazelle.

  33. Nedlamar

    Nedlamar MajorGeek

Yeah I love that game! It's one of those games that just makes you feel like a God, like God of War type thing. Just roaming the streets knockin' the sh*t outta folk :major

The open world is nice too, lots of freedom. I find some of the side quests tricky to locate and a couple confused the hell outta me lol.
And the combat is second to none.

I've had an all over the place day off, first thing this morning I fired up Fallout 3.
Around noon I continued with Napoleon Total war campaign, then a couple of hours later I had a couple of online matches on BF3 then MW3, then played some MW3 survival, then finished a couple more levels on Portal 2 which lead me into continuing my game of Half Life 2 and then finally I played Minecraft for an hour lol

Just could not decide what I wanted to play :-D

Never heard of it until your link, played the demo.
Very unimpressed, far too retro for my liking. It kind of reminded me of Limbo but not near as good.

Although I am soooo toying with the idea of grabbing "Dear Esther" , it sounds so terrible but so intriguing.

Ugh finished Batmah Arkham city kind of,its broken. I'v finished the main story but missed a few side missions I thought it was because you get locked out a few missions from the end as that's when they stopped working but no they are dead,I give up.

    Next...

  42. Nedlamar

    Nedlamar MajorGeek

Which quests are you finding broken?
I have quite a few of the side missions to complete yet having put the game down for a while, but when I pick it up I could check the quests and see if they work for me.

The watcher in the wings isn't where he's supposed to be on the third sighting,I've found him twice once near the town hall and once on that big wheel

    http://www.gamesradar.com/batman-arkham-city-watcher-wings-side-mission-guide/

I've flown around forever tryna get oracle to phone me about the identity theft too and nothing, the third victim isn't there and shouldn't be until oracle phones you.

It could be I've not done something to unlock those missions,I haven't found every riddler trophy "85%" and I haven't unlocked every tyger security console.

I just uninstalled it in a fit of rage:-D I haven't deleted my save game though so I may return to it but I've had Cryis 2 sitting on my shelf since christmas so I've installed that and I'm tryna get the dx11 texture pack and tessellation to work,I started installing it at 2.00pm its now 5.30pm and I still haven't seen what the game looks like yet:-D

I can't remember how many times I saw him, I think 2 as well.
I do remember having some troubles with some of them and then later they worked ok.

    I'll look over the weekend.

As for Crysis 2, why so long to install? I'm almost certain I installed.... oh wait, I did it through steam and just left it running over night.
Runs like a dream maxed out for me, the occasional slow down but very rare and usually while going into cloak mode with all kinds of explosions and gun fights going on, but I get a steady 40+ fps, dips to 30 and highs of 60.

I just loved the increased speed of the nano suit functions, stealth sniping is soooo much fun. It's just
    Cloaked.
    Uncloakshootcloak.
    Done :-D

  45. Rikky

The tessellation pack is 600mb download and the high res texture pack is 1.7gb file on my 6meg broadband:-D The auto update didn't work there's something wrong with the website, then when I installed it the auto update though I hadn't and kept tryna install it again screwing up the game from starting, there's also the major problem of the game wanting to constantly run at 24fps on my HDTV which is documented problem which still hasn't been fixed the only way around it is to restart the game.

I can get a constant 60+ frames with everything set to ultra, high resolution texture pack installed and the DX11 tessellation pack installed patch 1.9 so far on the first couple of missions,aa set to X16,if I set it to 32msaa it slowsdown to 55fps regularly so I don't use it and it doesn't really make much difference in visual quality.

I have noticed a massive slowdown though which is repeatable, when I duck and the NPC's shoot the ground in front of me splashing up dirt, smoke and particles it slows down to 30fps.

It reminiscent of the 50% vsync slowdowns of crysis when the framerate dips below the refresh rate but I don't think it's that as it only happens at that time,I'll have to look into it.

The game is fun though and looks awesome, damn content censors though:-D I so miss dismemberment and mutilation of corpse ala half life and soldier of fortune 2,with explosions and weapons, all these fancy rag doll physics are over rated. When I set off a grenade next to a bad guys face I want a cloud of red mist and bits all over the place not an indestructible mannequin flying around.

Never did me any harm seeing those things, apart from the afore mentioned cravings and blood lust.rolleyes

It is def. worth checking out. Arkham Asylum I played about a month or so ago, I've not tried Arkham city yet, but i'm looking forward too it.:-D
