Hi im new here and kind of a noob to virus deleting. Ive been able so far to delete most of the files of vundo with vundofix and the file names that come up on spydoctor. so far, spydoctor hasnt detected any infections but when i run webroot spy sweeper, it keeps saying i still have virtumonde. is there a way to remove this (if i still have the virus) without buying a virus deleter?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

The more you make unnecessary posts in an attempt to bump your thread, the longer it takes to get an answer. You should have started by reading the sticky threads to get all of your answers. Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!

And another you needed to read:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

Please follow the instructions in the above link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

Sorry but no you did not!!! No where in those instructions does it ask you to post a HijackThis log. Especially from a HijackThis version that is out of date and improperly installed and as such will be of no use to us in helping with Vundo. The instructions also specifically request that you do not have Spybot's Teatimer running. Please read the instructions again and follow all of them. They clearly state the below and this is a direct quote.
You have not done this and thus you have not complete the instructions. If you don't follow the instructions we cannot help you.

It does not matter how long it has been. We have been answer posts that are much older than yours. And it is still a bump. This
is a bump and if I had not spent the about 25 hrs out of the last 48 trying to catch up in the forum, that post could have cost you 2 to 3 more days of waiting time.

combofix doesnt install properly and i get a mcafree popup saying from a random .exe from the folder C://1231231 or some random number. then when i put the program on the allow list, i get a blue cmd prompt saying it cant find a file. the sentence gets cutoff and i cant read it

Have you run all of the other steps that appear before ComboFix. Was SUPERAntispyware already run?

ComboFix does not install. It just runs. Did you rename it to cf.exe? Are you running it from the command prompt as specified. Shutdown McAfee and try to run it. Also if you have Spy Sweeper installed, shut it down.

That is what I meant to say. Are using the below in the run box?

    "%userprofile%\desktop\cf.exe" /killall

You did not rename the file properly. You renamed it to cf.exe.exe This probably happened because you did not have view of file extension enabled as requested in the early steps of the READ ME. I'm not sure this is causing a problem or not but you should name it properly.

You mentioned you have Spy Sweeper in message # 1. I do not see Spy Sweeper but I do see Spyware Doctor. Did you uninstall Spy Sweeper?

Is Spyware Doctor a paid program or a free trial? If free uninstall it now.

You need to disable Spybot's Teatimer as requested in the READ ME. See this How to disable Spybot's TeaTimer

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
    Java(TM) 6 Update 3
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BM0b2af00e] "Rundll32.exe" "
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [0819c392] "rundll32.exe" "

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Do not change any check box options!!
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:
    • Now click the Execute button.
    • Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    • Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    • Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.
After reboot look for all of the above files we had Avenger attempt to delete. If you still see them, delete them yourself.

Also delete all files in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).
    C:\Windows\Temp
    C:\Users\James\AppData\Local\Temp

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

On those avenger notes, i deleted some of those hkeys already. I also uninstalled spy sweeper because it wasn't doing much but takin some of my computers memory. I kept the free trial of spydoctor because it would at least show me where the infected files were so i can manualy delete them. But i uninstalled it anyways because you said so (im guessing it will download adware since its free?). I followed your instructions for cf.exe very carefully but it still showing a blue command prompt like window saying an error. I've also uploaded the avenger and mgtools here. I think my computer is running a lot better now, it started up quite quickly ;). Like i said,

No! We uninstall it because the free trial does not fix anything and is therefore a waste of system resources to have services running.

You did not disable Teatimer as requested. You must disable this because you have Windows Defender which is part of Vista running. Leaving this running will cause conflicts and it will slow down normal operation as well as startup.

    Your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix then UNINSTALL COMBOFIX (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN
      • Now type combofix /u in the runbox and click OK.
      • Note: The space between the X and the /U, it must be there.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used SmitFraudFix, you can delete all files and folders related to it now including the c:\rapport.txt log.
    5. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    6. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    7. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    8. If we had you run RenV.exe, you can delete it and the Log.txt file on your Desktop.
    9. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    10. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    11. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    12. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    13. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

This last item would be better asked in the Software Forum. It appears to be some kind of setting within Vista that has been changed.
