No wonder you are so badly infected!! Why are your running this PC with NO protection?

You missed a couple of important instructions while installing SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes. You did not update the detections to the current versions. I will ask you to do this later and run new scans to make sure nothing was missed.

Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

    Uninstall the below software:
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_05
    Java(TM) 6 Update 3
    Java(TM) 6 Update 5
Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only) <-- should have been uninstalled in step 1 of the READ ME
Viewpoint Media Player <-- should have been uninstalled in step 1 of the READ ME

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-18\..\Run: [Hdy] "E:\Program Files\?ymbols\r?ndll32.exe" (User 'SYSTEM')
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-18\..\Run: [msupdate.exe] E:\WINDOWS\system32\msupdate.exe -check (User 'SYSTEM')
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-18\..\Run: [Grrccef] "E:\Program Files\?asks\??ool32.exe" (User 'SYSTEM')
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-18\..\Run: [Tsbt] "E:\PROGRA~1\SMBOLS~1\dllhost.exe" -vt yazb (User 'SYSTEM')
    O4 - HKUS\.DEFAULT\..\Run: [Hdy] "E:\Program Files\?ymbols\r?ndll32.exe" (User 'Default user')
    O9 - Extra button: Bodog Poker - {F47C1DB5-ED21-4dc1-853E-D1495792D4C5} - E:\Program Files\Bodog Poker\BPGame.exe (file missing)
    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: nxbsuo.dll

NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

Now run SUPERAntiSpyware, update to the current definitions/detections and run another scan.
After SUPERAntiSpyware finishes, run Malwarebytes, update to the current definitions/detections and run another scan.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Then attach the below logs which will require two messages:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • new SUPERAntiSpyware log
    • new Malwarebytes log
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Run E:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat again and attach another new log. I mistakenly deleted some items last time using C:\ rather than E:\ since you do not have a standard Windows Installation of drive C.

This is due to what I mentioned earlier in that you have NO PROTECTION installed. We need to change how we are working due to this.

Let's see if we can get an antivirus and a firewall installed before we go any further.
    • Download and install this: Avast! Home Edition
    • if it asks you to reboot after installing, make sure you reboot. Also make sure you update it immediately.
    • Now download and install the below
      • PC Tools Firewall Plus <-- make sure you uncheck the options to install Google Toolbar and Threatfire free edition. There's is no sense in installing excess baggage.
After doing the above, continue on with the below.

    Uninstall XP Antispyware 2009
If it does not uninstall, just continue on.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [brastk] brastk.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [XP Antispyware 2009] "E:\Program Files\XP_AntiSpyware\XP_AntiSpyware.exe" /hide
    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: karna.dat

NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Do not change any check box options!!
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:
    • Now click the Execute button.
    • Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    • Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    • Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now download and run the current version of MGtools.exe

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\avenger.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

You're welcome. Your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)
    3. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    9. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

hey is it possible that the protection software you told me the download could cause my internet to be unstable? ive been getting disconnected on my dsl a lot....

  20. chaslang

They should not be causing you problems but you could check to see if you are just having issues with passing information thru the firewall by either disabling the firewall for awhile to see what happens. Or uninstall the firewall as a test. However, if this is somehow related to your problem, it would probably be due to you not giving permission to a required application to pass thru the firewall. These tools are used by hundreds of thousands of people and a problem like this would be well known.

When exactly? While running certain games? Or does it happen no matter what.

This is still not a malware problem. Are you sure you have allow all of your DSL required software (like whatever is used for your PPOE authentication) to work thru the firewall. If this continues, I suggest that you uninstall PC Tools firewall and try one of the other free firewalls in the How to Protect yourself from malware! link. I believe there may be cases where some firewalls have presented problems to DSL type connectios.
