hey i am lp098 you can call me Dave i am new I'm kind of a techs worst nightmare but i am trying to learn. hopefully i can get taught by the pros here and help fix peoples problems, and learn how to get better with computers. If any pros want to give me a crash course on computers/virus removal it would be appreciated.

It takes a lot of time, patience, studying and learning. No such thing as a crash course.

 

im in for the long run ;p any thing i should start off reading or doing? any tips on how to get better with computers

 

Read the threads in the section that you want to specialize in and study, study, and more study. Thats the only way to really learn.
If you want to be a malware specialist, train for it and take the tests. Good luck on your endeavour.

 

i am m reading up on it now ;p its hard to kind to learn if i can only read most of the stuff is very fixable in malware and i like challenges and problems. is that a rule in the malware removal fourm that you cant post to others posts?

To become good, you will probably need them all.

 

I am currently enrolled Here and although its not always easy,its totally worth it and the teachers are very nice and very helpful. I've made my way from a GeekU Freshman to a GeekU Junior and Im quite proud of my self. Its great and its self paced learning.

If your really interested in learning, because its quite a commitment, I would definitely suggest this place.

 

i just applied there it seemed more rigorous then the other ones hopefully i can cope with this hopefully ill be one of you guys in a few months.

 

If you are really interested in learning and sticking with it, you will make it through. I wont lie to you.. there were times I wanted to pull all my hair out but when you finally get it right and the teachers do a little dance for you (yes, that did happen to me :-D) it makes it all worth it. It helps when you have someone to ask advice from ( ) and the teachers there are always will to answer you question. They wont always give you the answer but will guide you in the right direction.

Personally, I love doing it. Im so glad someone talked me into actually signing up (you know who you are :-D) cuz I was out there just learning on my own and this is much better.

 

does it really take a week to sort through your application?

 

I think I got a reply in about 4-5 days. All the work is volunteer (just like here) and they have alot to go through, so it takes some time.

As dy says it is totally worth it,and it is quite a commitment. but if your willing to put the time in im sure you can do it

That I know for sure!! I am in computer school and I still come here for advice/direction......but every time you come in the forum you learn something new.....this is the best forum to learn about computers.......

oops didnt post in a while i got accepted and im learning a lot im starting to get good with types of malware/spyware however i need some help with Hijackthis and Combofix.exe anyone want to offer me some advice?
