I have 'Secure AntiVirus Pro' on my start bar. Shows a red hexagon with a white x. Followed instructions in read & run me. Already had Anti Malware Bytes and cannot update it. That found a lot, as did my AVG but neither solved the problem. Already had CCleaner. Downloaded Super AntiSpyware successfully but could not update definitions. Ran it anyway, log attached. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You did not complete the instructions. You have 3 more logs to attach. The below is a direct quote from the READ & RUN ME.

ran SAS ok, ran Malware Bytes although couldnt updat definitions, Combo downloaded but wouldnt run. Came up with error - not safe to continue, download fresh combo, maybe infected with Virut. Ran MGlogs but half way come up with failed to initialise properly 0x00007b but then showed complete scan. Logs that I could get attached.

Yes I can see from your log that your Windows OS files are infected and all copies of them on your hard disk are infected. Do you have your Windows XP SP3 boot CD? Or the SP2 CD? This may be the only way to fix this and it may or may not be a 100% reliable fix.

Yes, I have the xp sp3 disc. I bought it off windows after downloading sp3 from them in case I ever needed it. Will wiping my hard drvive and re-installing xp help? I dont mind doing that if you can provide instructions that I can print out?

Yes it would but we do not have time to guide you thru this here. You would have to post in the Software Forum.

However let's try the below first.

    • Reboot your PC in safe boot mode.
    • Put your Windows XP SP3 CD into the drive
    • Click Start, Run, and enter sfc /scannow and click OK. There is a space after the sfc. This runs System Rile Checker which looks for missing or corrupted system files and attempts to replace/repair them from files on your hard disk or from the CD if necessary.
    • After it finishes the Window should just close.
    • Reboot your PC into normal mode.
    • Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
    • Attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file.

It wont run. A box flicks up, like the DOS command box, but nothing happens. I think Ill try to wipe it, Ive found how to on the net. Id like your opinion.

You should work thru all of the below: How to Protect yourself from malware!

You may not have allowed your browser to have access thru Comodo's firewall.

    Only privately via paypal.
