Hi. I did all of the 8 steps instructed before posting my hijackthis log.
Yesterday I noticed that whenever I tried to surf the web, I was brought right back to "google.com". My boyfriend worked on my computer for awhile with no avail.
I only have Mcafee on my computer and I ran it over night and it said it found no errors.
This morning, however, the problem seems to have stopped but from what I read and understand about the file, is that there is only suppose to be one in your task manager. Both of them listed in my task manager are system files. However, when we look in my my windows system folder there are two additional files:
    "csrss.exe.mui MUI File x86_microsoft-windows-csrss.resource_31vf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16836_en-us_d85a491ae4858e31 (C:\windows\winsxs)
    csrss.exe Application x86_microsoft-windows-csrss_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6001.18000_none_58e3e3d7e415ae4c (C:\windows\winsxs)"

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2
Scan saved at 10:35:30 AM, on 4/2/2010
Platform: Windows Vista SP1 (WinNT 6.00.1905)
    MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6001.18385)
    Boot mode: Normal

Edit by chaslang: Inline HJT log removed. READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide sticky not followed.

Please let me know if there is something else I was suppose to do or you need and I'll reply promptly.
    Thank you very much!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

If you are having malware problems ( csrss.exe is normal ), please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Hi as far as I knew.. I HAD followed all those steps. So if you want to edit my post; fine, but it would be a hell of a lot more helpful if you told me which step I didn't follow. Was it because I didn't attach the log? I'll do that now. If there is another problem you need to tell me because AGAIN I went through all of the steps and read all of them to make sure everything was kosher as far as I knew.
    Thanks in advance.

If you had followed those steps you would know that we stated not to post HijackThis logs at all. The logs you are supposed to attach were given to you in the instructions. The below is a direct quote:
