no sound in youtube

    no sound in youtube but sound in my windows 7 media player :confused , have updated my flash player got all the codecs you need but still nothing , also tried a footy game i play and theres no sound from that , i thought it would have been an update needed but its not , any help would be great , thanks

    What browser? Do you have your javascript enabled?

    i have cleaned and updated flash player etc but still no joy :cry

    Yes or no to see if I understand the situation.
    You have sound everywhere on the computer except absolutely no sound in FF and IE when surfing. (If that's the case, we can fix it - someone had the same problem last week).

    media player is fine in windows 7 , dont use ie but tried it and theres also no sound , i have tried different sites with videos , youtube metcafe etc but no sound , it sounds like a flash player issue but not sure , have got rid of flash player and reinstalled but no joy

    This solution works for XP
    Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32 and add new string value named wavemapper
    double click on the new string and give it a value msacm32.drv
    I'll have to search to see if it is also true of Win 7.

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
    and post what shows in the right window.

    I don't have win 7 installed so I can't determine if everything is there. We'll have to wait for someone running 7 to compare your list of drivers with what is on another win 7 computer.

    Open up FF and in the address bar, type

    what version of Shockwave Flash is installed?

    anybody any ideas about this sound problem , as i have said sound on windows 7 media player and veetle but none on youtube metcafe etc , any help would be grate , tried all the common sense stuff like flash updates etc ,
