I think I got some kind of trojan

    I am not getting any warnings or flashes by my antivirus (Avast), but I have noticed some weird stuff happening:

    Some programs tend to crash, I have removed them already.
    I had Spybot Search & Destroy, which had found couple of empty startup entries and system32.exe entry, I disabled them all (about week ago).
    I was using AVG, but I came suspicious that it wasnt working correctly, so wanted to uninstall it, but it gave me an error (which I dont remember what kind it was, but it surely wasnt working).
    I deleted the files manually, and noticed there were copies of the .exe files (I think those were the normal that AVG has, and .exe.old files aka the copies)

    Symptoms of this threat seem to be well masked, for example my Opera lagged 1 time, I think it was last saturday, so that it was using like 50% of my CPU (dualcore, 100% load on the first core), I deleted that version and downloaded newer version (the old version was only like a month old). Also once, a game (CS) lagged, using completely the other core and not working right, I deleted the hl.exe (game engine) and reinstalled it, worked great again.

    The alarming fact is that the trojan/virus/worm/whatever is not showing itself in any other way except as these small things that I was even lucky to notice.

    I am using Nokia Ovi Suite to connect to Internet, and when I notice yesterday, that the icon in the bar had changed to Operas, I clicked it and it changed to normal, after a moment it had changed to a folders icon. I looked at my TCP/IP traffic from the Task Manager and it had a connection I had never seen before:
    Normally it says the .exe file that connects or System but this one had <unknown> as the process and the IP it had connected was 74.125.43.100:http AND 4 more of those unknows connected to 74.125.43.106:http, and I had never seen such a connection before.
    I instantly disconnected my computer from the Internet.

    So I went through the Read & Run me stuff, and it removed trojans (from files that were 100% clean when I got them, legit programs with no complains). Now my Opera doesnt work, Nokia Ovi Suite has started working a LITTLE strange:
    When I normally close the program it asks "Are you sure, closing the program will disconnect you from Internet", now it doesnt even ask and just leaves the connection open.

    I have very few clues where this infection could have came, I havent installed any new programs in the last few days.

    Note: The opera stopped working after the ComboFix procedure I think, and now in my Task Manager I cannot see the TCP/IP part anymore. I am thinking of formatting my hard drives and doing a full windows reinstall, but I cant get the CD for couple of days. I attached the logs of the antivirus programs in the post.

    Thank you for your support!

    I am not finding any malware in your logs, only what was already removed by the scans. You can run this to try to remove the vestiges of AVG:
    Please go here and download and run the AVG Removal Tool.

    The rest of your issues sound like software problems and should be addressed in the software forum.

    You can do an online check:
    eSet Online Scan.

    Thank you for your fast reply, Ill do as asked.
    Maybe this all was just in my head.

    Can I ask about why did the Malwarebytes Anti-malware log its own installation file as malware? Is there any reason for that (mb.exe)

    Because you saved it in the root folder.;) They and many other applications will flag many executable files that are stored in the root folder.

    :-D

    And after rebooting my computer, Opera started working. I guess those crashes/weird CPU consumption issues were just caused by something else.

    After running MGtools or ComboFix, not quite sure which one, I cant see TCP/IP in my Task Manager. If possible I would like to have that back.

    One question still: ComboFix (I think it was ComboFix) removed steam.exe, was that due that 1) I forgot it to run in backround 2) It has startup entry ?

    Not sure why it removed it, but we can replace it:

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    DeQuarantine::
    [COLOR=#555555][FONT=Arial]C:\Qoobox\Quarantine[/FONT][/COLOR]\d:\steam\Steam.exe.vir

    QUIT::

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now just go to the file and remove the .vir extension.

    What malware issues are you still having?

    I had a little incident while doing this procedure:
    I disabled avast for an hour, but during the combofix's (well after the last phase) it restarted the computer, so I guess avast was turned back on or something. So it gave me warnings about those files in the ComboFix folder, I allowed them all. So I disabled Avast WHILE combofix was still running (doing its log).
    No steam.exe.vir was created or restored in the steam folder.

    So should I do this again (now disabling Avast untill I start it again) or what?
    I will have to continue with this issue tomorrow.

    And I am not spotting ANY sign of malwares on my computer, its running smooth.

    Thanks for help!

    You can just manually restore the file. Go to
    C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\d:\steam\Steam.exe.vir , remove the .vir extension and copy and paste the Steam.exe back into the D:\Steam folder.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
