Starting today, neither IE, Firefox, or Chrome will launch a window. They run according to process explorer, but now window. Malwarebytes gets stuck in "ennumerating registry" (or something like that). Superantispyware won't run at all.

Booting into safe mode, I can run all of the above, the computer runs just fine. I ran the cleaning procedure. Interstingly enough, I ran superantispyware twice and there were my items the second time! I included both logs

Back in normal mode, I can't get a browser up.

I'm running XP Service Pack 3, on a HP TC4200 laptop, Comodo security...

I also had to zip some of the logs, because the site only allows 4 attachments.

    Thanks in advance!!!!

Please see the instructions in the cleaning procedure:
    • Scans should only be run once
    • Cookies are not problems and you should have followed the instructions for using SUPERAntiSpyware which had you disable scanning for cookies.
If does not appear that you are having malware. These logs are clean. I will have you run one more scan below just to be safe but have you checked to make sure you are not blocking any of your browsers from having access thru your firewall or blocked the processes from running with Comodo in any form. Shutdown Comodo and see what happens.

Now goto the below link and follow the instructions for running TDSSKiller from Kaspersky
Be sure to attach your log from TDSSKiller

Hi. Sorry for running the Superspy twice, but I couldn't find the original log at first. I also already just have it set up for cookies, and didn't remember to turn them off.

So, I ran the Kapersky. It didn't find anything. Log attached.

Everything works in safe mode. In normal mode, same thing. Not a single browser will launch a window (but they are all running). Turning off Comodo completely did not solve the issue. I don't have any other Firewall running.

This is really weird, isn't it? All 3 browsers not being able to launch a window? The only other thing I can think of to mention is that in normal mode when shutting down I get an End Process dialog box that hangs until I say "end now" for HP Wireless Assistant and explorer.exe. I killed HP Wireless Assistant and still have the browser issues.

Well the problem is not due to malware so all I would suggest is to uninstall Comodo completely, then reboot and see if there is any change. If not, I suggest that you start a thread in the Software Forum.

Are you using a wireless connection or wired? Try the wired if using wireless.
