Difficult to type. My mouse on screen has gone nuts. It did it yesterday too in the evening. Ran multiple programs ~ Adaware, Spybot, MalwareBytes, etc. None of them detect anything.

It's a plug and play optical gaming mouse by Wolf King. I've been using this mouse for the last two+ years. It's NOT a hardward problem. It continues whether there's a mouse plugged in or not.

It settles for a minute if I restart. Sporadically settles as well for a few seconds.

The pointer turns into a small somewhat plus shaped, grey symbol. As if flies around the screen - not smooth, jolting, etc - it randomly right and left clicks, opening menus and programs. If I attempt to use it, it usually settles for a minute and allows me to use it. Often the little grey plus symbol gets a grey circle around it and it selects areas randomly.

    Oh my god. Please help.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Most mouse issues are hardware issues, but if you think it is malware, please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Ok. I'm doing this from another computer BECAUSE I CAN'T USE MY DESKTOP FOR THIS STUPID THING GOING ON.

Do I need to do something differently or what in an effort to get help with this? I've been all over the internet for hours and found absolutely nothing that can help in the slightest.

You have not explained what you have tried to run from my instructions and what happens. Have you tried the instrctions? Have you tried them in safe boot mode if you have problems running in normal boot mode? Have you tried removing the mouse you have been using and just using a plain old simple mouse? Try a different USB port. Have you tried running System Restore to go back to an old restore point from before where this began.

You need to follow the instructions and attach the logs so that we can best determine whether you are having malware problems or not. You already implied in your first message that you had been running various scans so I don't see why you cannot do what was requested and attach the logs.

Apologies. Your post wasn't showing up, for whatever reason, when I typed that last one. At 10:22PM on the dot the mouse issue stopped and hasn't yet returned, but I'm going to be going through the steps you outlined as well as a suggestion from another forum. I will let you know as soon as I get through them.

    I really appreciate the response!

You're welcome. But do not work on suggestions from two forums. Pick a forum and work on what that forum asks you to do and nothing else.
