Hi major geeks, I was having problems with google search results being redirected so I tried resetting my router. After resetting my router I could no longer connect to the internet. My network was found but it would not connect. I was able to connect using safemode and networking. I used ComboFix and it found zero access. After running combo fix i managed to connect to the internet and there was no redirection problems. However after rebooting the PC once more the internet is now again not connecting. It wont connect even in Safe Mode. I am now using my parents laptop and it is connecting to the same network. I cannot post logs as they are on the PC and I have no way of transferring them to the laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to run Combo Fix on the pc again in safe mode but it states that norton antivirus is on. I cant see that it is and have no way to switch it off. Im afraid to run Combo Fix incase machine damage occurs, what should I do?

sorry to keep posting replies to the thread I started but changes keep happening. I now am able to run the internet on the PC. I kept rebooting the PC and for some reason it started working. Here are the logs Ive managed to get. I dont have the malwarebytes or the superantispyware logs as I dont have the time to run the scans tonight. Attached are two combo fix logs, one that found zero access and one after, the root repeal log and the mglogs log.

Im still having trouble connecting to the internet. If i repeatedly disable and enable the connection/plug the adapter in and out/reset the router then after about 20 mins i manage to get a connection. not sure what causes it. Once im connected everything seems to work fine but If I disconnect I have the same problem again.
Ive got the combofix log attached.

Would you be opposed to uninstalling these to further troubleshoot your problem? Some of these are very outdated and a corrupt Norton installation has been known to cause intermittent internet issues.

I'd like to keep my norton antivirus as its the only firewall program Ive got and its not really caused me any trouble in the past.
Ive attached the TDSSKiller log. I got a few suspicious results and skipped them all.

Is it possible combofix has causes some sort of malfunction in my computers ability to connect to the internet?

Also I tried reinstalling my netgear adapter and it installed netgear smart wizard wireless assistant. Its a really annoying pointless piece of software but I cant find any way of uninstalling it without uninstalling the adapter all together. Is there some way round this?

It's possible but not really what we do here. For questions like these you can get help in the Drivers or Software forum.
Basically you just want the driver only.

While it's possible I do not think this happened in your case. Your logs are showing internet connectivity.

    What did the errors say?

http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/3189/windowsrepair.gif Download Windows Repair by Tweaking.com and unzip the contents into a newly created folder on your desktop.
    • Now open Repair_Windows.exe
    • Go to the Start Repairs tab.
    • Press the Start button
    • Create a System Restore point if prompted.
    • In the Repair Options window, choose the following repairs:
      • Register System Files
      • Repair WMI
      • Repair Internet Explorer
      • Repair Hosts File
      • Remove Policies Set By Infections
      • Repair Winsock & DNS Cache
      • Remove Temp Files
      • Repair Proxy Settings
      • Repair MSI (Windows Installer)
    • Place a checkmark in Restart/Shutdown System When Finished
    • Fill in the Restart System bubble
    • Now click the Start button.
    • Be patient while the tool repairs the selected items. Your computer should automatically restart when finished.

I ran MGLogs again to see what the error message was. I got the same one again and took a screenshot of it. I didnt know whether to press OK or Cancel so I just pressed the x in the corner.
I ran windows repair as instructed but im still having trouble connecting to the internet without it taking a very long time.

This error is caused by your computer not having .NET Framework installed. It can be utilized for gathering logs with MGtools but is not required.

These problems you are experiencing are not malware related as your logs are clean.

Please visit the Software or Networking forum(s) for additional assistance.

If you are not having any other malware related problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    • Any programs we had you download and/or install can be removed at this time.
    • If we had you download and run ComboFix, here is how to uninstall it:
      • Press and hold the Windows key http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h363/debojyotidas/Windows_Logo_key.gif and then press the letter R on your keyboard.
      • This opens the Run dialog box.
      • Copy and paste the below text inside the text-field:
        • "%userprofile%\desktop\ComboFix" /uninstall
      • Now press ENTER
      • ComboFix will extract its files one last time and you should receive a notification that ComboFix has been uninstalled shortly after.
    • You can re-enable your Disk Emulation software at this time via DeFogger.
    • If we had you create or download a registry patch or "fix" script, these can be deleted at this time.
    • Go into the C:\MGtools folder and run the MGclean.bat file to remove additional traces of our tools.
    • Now we will toggle System Restore to remove any infected system restore points.
    • Lastly, here is a guide to protect you from future infections: How to Protect yourself from malware!
    • Be safe :)
