Hi all. I have acquired the FBI moneyPak virus and can not go onto the internet without seeing the FBI Pay page. I am on a backup laptop now and writing this.

I can not go into Safe Mode, but I am able to boot to normal mode...all seems fine as long as i dont hook to the internet. I can not access the restore functions, regedit, and probably others. I am at a standstill. I have run MalwareBites and cant get online to get their updates. I will appreciate any help on getting my computer back on the internet. Thanks to all.:cry

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Use your other PC ( laptop ) to allow you to get the tools required to complete the below instuctions.

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual update Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only RogueKiller and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run the rest of the READ & RUN ME FIRST instructions on the infected account.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Thank you for your replay chaslang. I have attached the logs that i received. I ran the items you requested. TDS Killer showed no problem found.

    Hitman showed no log but showed 3 suspicious items. they are 1. WiseCustomCall.dll 2. A0000268.dll 3. TrueSight.sys (Driver) {unknown}

I had run Hitman 2 days ago as per another forum and it found 3 Trojans and other things and I deleted them. That may have made things worse even tho i was able to get on the internet after running that and MS Fixit tool to set to default host. I even rebooted several times and things seemed ok....except i still didnt have msconfig, regedit, TaskManager etc. they were still dissabled. I thought i would get back to them later. Now today the FBI screen is back after booting up this morn and cant get on net again. I got on my backup laptop and ran all the items you recommended after d/l them and installing on the infected computer.

MGtools showed no logs no error messages no popups.

Thanks again and I will await further instructions from you. I have not attempted to get the infected computer online for fear of messing things up worse.

    You're welcome.
You need to attach the log anyway.

Please run per our instructions and attach the log.

Please disable any protection software that you have running and then run the new version per the below. We need a full log from MGtools and the ONLY LOG we want from MGtools is C:\MGlogz.zip.

Now download the current version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

Run MGtools.exe ( Note: If using Vista or Win7, make sure UAC is still disabled. Also don't double click on it, use right click and select Run As Administrator )

    Now attach the below log:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
