    Dearest MajorGeekers,

This thread is a fork of issues which began here:

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/bsod.301083/

While troubleshooting my machine and all signs pointing to a hardware issue, specifically one having to do with my SSD, an unknown driver file appeared: "qsbnrp.sys." satrow (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?members/satrow.160999/) suggested I start a thread here to address this. I would have logs to post as per the pinned post (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index....ide-incl-spyware-virus-trojan-hijacker.35407/) but I can't get through the RogueKiller scan without crashing.

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

You should really be running in normal boot mode unless your PC does not operate in normal mode. Safe boot mode logs are not as helpful and we only want those when here is no other choice.

Can you put a copy of the qsbnrp.sys file into a ZIP file and attach it?

I was BSODing out before my scans would complete. I can try again.

haven't been able to find it. where might I start looking?

Other than the minor junk that Malwarebytes removed, there is nothing of concern in your logs so I don't think you need to bother any rescanning in normal mode. Just attach the SYS file in a ZIP so I can take a look at it. You should take a look in C:\windows\system32 or in C:\windows\system32\drivers

Got all the scans done in normal mode, fwiw. PeerBlock was disabled upon startup.

Those directories were the first place I looked. No dice. A system-wide search has so far yielded nothing.

On the bright side, no BSOD since this boot...

Well if you cannot find it and you have viewing of hidden and system files enabled then perhaps it does not exist anymore.

None of your logs show any malware issues so there really isn't anything for use to do here except the below.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
