    Hello,
I have a problem with internet. I use Firefox. Lately it is getting stuck continiously. If I open more than one tab on firefox, things gett extremely slow or gett stuck. Very often Firefox closes itself or I have to close it with ctrl-alt-delete.
I ran the whole procedure on READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware Removal Guide (incl. spyware, virus, trojan, hijacker).
TDSSkiller gave me no problem, so no log. All the other logs you can find in attachment.

Thanks for helping me out ;-)

    Kindly,
    Veerle

    Hello, VeerleWauters

Question: Which set of these belong to your ISP or DNS server?
    156.154.70.25,156.154.71.25
    195.130.131.3 195.130.130.3

Now, re-run RogueKiller.exe. (Vista/Windows7/8/10 users should right-click and select "Run as Administrator")
After it finishes the scan, select the following tabs and then select any of the below that exist and then click the Delete button.

    ¤¤¤ Bestanden ¤¤¤
    [PUM.Firefox][Bestand] C:\Users\Veerle\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\dz1i83po.default\Invalidprefs.js -> Gevonden
    [PUP][Map] C:\Users\Veerle\AppData\Roaming\RPEng -> Gevonden
    [PUP][Map] C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeRIP -> Gevonden
    [PUM.Firefox][Bestand]
    ¤¤¤ Web Browsers ¤¤¤
[PUP][FIREFX:Addon] dz1i83po.default : Ant Video Downloader met ingesloten FLV Player [anttoolbar@ant.com] -> Gevonden

    Then immediately reboot your PC.

When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
Upload RKreport[2].txt to your next message.
After uploading RKreport[2].txt, now run a new scan with RogueKiller and save a log as in the original instructions and upload that new log also.

Please also answer my question and describe your browser's behavior now.

:) Quickest way would be to call your internet service provider (ISP).

I now think there's nothing wrong in your RKlog.txt, Veerle.

Now please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Make sure to shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Upload JRT.txt to your next message.

Next download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
    • When it's done you'll see: Pending: Please uncheck elements you don't want removed.
    • Now click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
    • Upload this log to your next reply.
Tell me how your pc is running now.

    Hi there,

I didn't receive an answer from my ISP yet; I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear from them...
I ran both tools you advised. Logs in attachment.
After that I rebooted the laptop and tried internet. I opened 4 tabs in Firefox and started a youtubefilm on facebook. The film went smooth. But when I wanted to like and share it afterwards, everything gott stuck again. After a while, Firefox closed itself and restarted.

I didn't mention that sometimes out of nowhere, some music or a French commercial starts to play. I can only hear it. If I check my different tabs in Firefox, there is no tab on which a clip has started playing. Only if I close all tabs, the sound stops. Quiet spooky... It didn't happen yet after I ran both tools you recommended, but it doesn't happen so often, so I cannot be sure yet that this thing has been solved.

Thanks a lot for your help! I hope to gett my answer from my ISP soon :)

    Veerle

    You're welcome

That IP address belongs to Comodo SecureDNS.

    Using AdwCleaner.exe previously downloaded:
    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool. (Vista, Win7/8/10 users should right-click and "Run As Administrator")
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • When the scan has completed, click on the Clean button.
    • Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the on-screen prompts.
    • Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
    • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[C#].txt) will open automatically (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
    • A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.
    • Upload this log to your next reply.

Please download the latest version of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: Make sure you download the correct version ( 32 bit or 64 bit ) for your PC. Only the correct version will run so if you make a mistake and download the wrong one, go back and get the other.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press the Scan button and wait.
    • The first time the tool is run it makes two logs, FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run.
    • Please upload them in your next reply.

    Those logs look okay.

*One last tool to use and then just monitor your browser for remaining issues.

Please download ZHPcleaner to your desktop.
    • Close all applications (including your web browsers and antivirus)
    • Double-click on ZHPCleaner to run the tool.
    • If you are using Windows Vista, 7/8/10; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click ZHPCleaner and select "Run as Administrator".
    • Please click the "J'accepte/I agree" button.
      • First press the "Scanner" button. Be patient, the scan takes longer than 5mins.
      • Then press the ''Repair'' button.
    • Browsers will automatically shut down.
    • A logfile will automatically open after the scan has finished.
    • Please upload that logfile with your next reply.

:) I'm ready to give you the final clean-up steps. How is the pc running?

  15. VeerleWauters

The PC is doing fine. I just stumbled into a problem that I want to ask you about. I use YMLP to make newsletters. In my account I created several templates. Ever since we did the whole cleanup procedure, I cannot edit the templates anymore, which is necessary if I want to ad content to make a new neswletter.
I asked the helpdesk of YMLP but they don't see any problem when they open my account. They think it has something to do with the settings of my browser (Firefox).
I just tried to work in Chrome and that worked perfectly. Do you know if we have changed something about the settings of Firefox which creates this problem now? Or is this still the result of possible malware?

    Thanks for helping me out!

We haven't changed any Firefox's settings, only removed the malware which may have changed/damaged something.

Try doing the following. If that doesn't fix your browser, please start a new thread topic in our Software forum

    Reset Firefox to Defaults

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase it, it provide no protection. It do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and re-enable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7/8/10 - it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double-click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. If you are running Win 7/8/10, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 6 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work through the below link:

I did the reset of Firefox and it worked! Thank you so much! B-)

I think the rest is working fine. No more getting stuck or creepy phantomvoice. I'll go through the final steps as you describe.
I have Comodo on my laptop; is that enough or do I need something else as well?

Thanks again for helping me out; this means a lot to me!
    Have a nice day! :)

    You're quite welcome.

I use Comodo Internet Security in a "layered" protection setup, which you will read about in the "How to Protect yourself from malware" link.

    Have a Good Day, yourself!
