Password Not Cleared With Offline Nt Password

Has to stay at home due to the coronavirus outbreak and one computer is not enough for my family. So booted up the old laptop and unfortunately the password is unknown. I then did a search in Google and made a bootable USB with Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. Followed the steps. Eject the disk and reboot the laptop. Surprisingly, the password login screen is still there. I don't know what's wrong with it.

 

At the login screen, did you try pressing Enter without typing a password?

 

yes. but it says password is wrong

 

Back over the years, I did a lot of messing with this sort of thing, then I got lazy and purchased a disk to do te job.
Apparently older version of Hiram's boot cd had a tool on it (I have not used that in years)

It does find the user account in free version. Need to pay a few bucks to unlock the reset feature.

 

Look at the label on my cd. 'ntpwedit' Do a search if you want or need to. Put it on any boot disk/ usb you have or make one. Can be done in 15 minutes.
