The computer I'm using now came with a 500Gb hdd. Has a 500Mb reserved partition and a 467Gb Windows 7 Pro boot partition. I bought a 240Gb SSD a few months back. Set it up with 3 partitions. A win 7 pro, a data partition and a Win 7 Ultimate partition. Had the SSD set up for dual boot and had been using it for a while, both versions of '7 off and on. The hdd was installed as a second disk as it had data on it that I use all the time.

I decided this last weekend to put the original hdd back online as the main -boot- disk.
Don't you know I couldn't get the password right no matter how I rearranged the letters, numbers and symbols I normally use. My disk. It had never left my pc. And now all was lost!

I remembered I made a couple boot cd's and usb's with a backup and restore program that allowed you to add some of your own programs on it. I put a password change tool on it. Made a couple of extra users on a 7 and an 8.1 pc with different passwords and tried out the program. It worked great!

I knew I had labeled the cd so I hunted it up and rebooted, put a new password in and there it was. Done. Had my boot disk back. 15 minutes max.

Think of what may happen. Make as plan to deal with it. Try your plan to make sure it works.
When the time comes, here's the important part, ..... remember......

Question for Imandy Mann...is Windows 7 Ultimate a slightly better experience, the same, or much better that 7 Pro? Never have experienced W7U before.

Reminder to self. Set up a USB flash drive boot tool using one of those tools that helps you add your own programs. BTW, who is that running SAS? C'MON now. Been waiting for SAS to become something great for as long as I have been meaning to make the tools disk you suggest. Some day I will make this tool, and oh yes I see Malwarebytes up there in the corner too o_O. Remembering the days when I couldn't afford either, while noticing how distracted from the tools project I so easily become...

I actually tried this with Windows PE maker and failed miserably. It kept sticking at one place during the initial disk creation. Think it was actually the official Windows PE maker I tried using for this.

You know I don't think there should be any difference in operation, just in content. I've seen it said that it combines the business stuff along the the home (entertainment stuff). Big difference was seen going from the ssd back to the hdd.

Look at this page for a run down for adding tools (games, disk editors, some things just have to be tried to see what works) to aomei pe builder.

    https://www.aomeitech.com/pebuilder/addtools.html

Then try the link on the left side menu to go to the builder. Short on time? Just download and save for a later day. --One day you may need it! --

ntpwedit----- I just tried a link here, small file -135kb and plenty info. Easier than what it seems. Put it on any windows or boot disk and run it on an offline windows to fix a new or none password.
