When I want to open "My Pictures" I get explorer.exe-Application Error: The Instruction at "0x60f197f9" referenced memory at " xx". The memory could not be "written".

This was caused by installing "Ulead PhotoImpact 10"

When I delete "user" then I can open "My Pictures"

When I then "run" PhotoImpact ....then trying to open "My Pictures" I get the above error again.

    I ran:
    Microsoft AntiSpyware
    Lavasoft
    Spybot
    found nothing.........

    Welcome to MG helmultl!:)

It is our policy to remove inline HJT logs as they overwhelm and clog up the search engines. Additionally, HJT is a tool used only after initial clean up procedures are followed. If it is determined you do indeed have a Maleware issue (error indicates an explorer.exe application error) we can move this thread back to the Maleware forum.

The problem is your ram, call your ram company or your computer company and get it replaced.

Curious minds want to know:)...How did you come to this conclusion? I have seen similar explorer.exe memory errors but had nothing at all to do with ram and were a result of other processes interfering and/or using up resources, installation conflicts with other apps., ect., etc...

    Definitely not a ram issue.

If ram was causing problems, the computer would be crashing.

    When you delete "user".

Can you be more specific? I don't know what you mean.

FYI - I had a similar problem (different app) and disabling DEP seemed to solve the problem.

Hi, thanks for the replies. Don't think it's a RAM problem. As to 'delete-User' question...When I delete the User 'Helmut' from the computer and then add NEW User 'Helmut' and go to 'My Pictures' everything is ok and works fine until I run 'Ulead PhotoImpact' when then I again get the error message. Which tells me that 'Ulead' is putting something into the 'User' files which causes the problems everytime 'My Pictures' is clicked.
Hope this helps to give someone a better idea how to fix
    Thanks

It is not a faulty memory problem.
It happended twice is ten months with my pc and still using same memory. Once is corrected itself, the other timeI don't know how I corrected it, but it is definately not faulty memory sticks.
