I'm on Windows 8.1. I tried highlighting a file inside a subfolder, clicked on the Move to button at the top of the window, selected the main folder the subfolder was inside, and clicked Move with Explorer?. I got a dialog box that said, "1 Interrupted Action: The source and destination file names are the same. Skip or Cancel." I checked the main folder and there was no file in there that had even a similar name to the one I was trying to move. So why did I get that dialog box? I had to open the main folder separately and drag the file into it. That worked perfectly.

Are you sure when you performed the step there was no file opened at that moment from the same folder.

Which one? The folder the file was in, or the folder I was trying to move it into?

The folder you were in (the original one)

Wow, only had to wait two weeks for that reply...

No, there was no file opened.
