    Hey guys,

Following the advice of Halo ive run his malware removal instructions and have got the relevent files for you guys to check for me.

So far so good on the usage front, its seems to be behaving but ill know more tomorrow when the pcs run a while.

What was happening was that the cpu was always a 100% but no process in the task manager was showing any usage, even system idle was at 99%

its a wierd one but hopefully its sorted, but if you could check my files id be happy.

    Cheers

You ignored a couple of instructions in the READ ME and you will have to correct this before we can continue.

First in step 1 of the READ ME we stated that you must not use MSconfig to control startups but you are using it. You must put your PC into normal startup mode and remain there. You should also read the below link so that you don't use MSconfig like this anymore. However do not take any actions at this time with startups other then putting your system in normal startup mode.

    Dealing with Startup Processes

After getting into normal startup mode reboot and then do the below.

Now Disable Spybot's TeaTimer as requested in the READ & RUN ME
    • Run Spybot and click Mode
    • Select Advanced Mode.
    • Then click Tools and select Resident.
    • Now in the right window pane, uncheck TeaTimer.
    • Also while this is open, in the left column now select IE Tweaks
    • and then in the right pane make sure all the Miscellaneous locks are unchecked.
    • Now quit Spybot!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it.

    Then attach the below log:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip

    Thanks Chaslang,

I must admit i did miss that bit out, but all is ok at the moment, at least i haven't tested it yet, by running a game, which is when it seemed to go, which is why i thought it maybe hardware related, but it isn't always.

But could you explain to me why its important to run msconfig in normal mode? The reason i ask is that i have a few programs in the startup section that aren't installed or i dont want running, is there a way i can delete these from there?

See i can follow instructions and understand most of what im doing but sometimes i dont know and want to if that makes sense.

Thanks for looking anyway and ill have a look at getting what you said done tonight.

    Cheers

Already did! See: Dealing with Startup Processes Normal startup means you are not using MSconfig which is the way your PC should be run all the time except while doing temporary debugging.

Yes and this problem is due to using MSconfig and is explained as one of the reasons why you should not use MSconfig in the above link. If you uninstall applications while they are being controlled with MSconfig, registry entries will be left behind and the uninstall will be incomplete. Now you need to fix any entries like this via regisrty editing or by using HijackThis to permanently remove them or in some cases a tool like MSConfig Cleanup
