12 Ghosts Pop-up killer problem

I have used 12 Ghosts ( http://www.12ghosts.com/ghosts/popup.htm ) with great success for some time now but I updated tonight and it now prevents me from opening IE at all. I went back to the older version and the problem went away.

I re-updated and the problem re-manifested itself. The program is running from the desktop and is considering IE to be a pop-up.

I simply want to warn other users of the possible problem and I will take this up with the provider and get back on what I find out.

Ah, well, it turns out that they have added a cute little window in the "no ads" tab that disallows programs from starting IE. Explorer.exe was in the bad side of the window so it was disallowing IE from starting itself. Now that's quirky!

I moved it to the good side and everything started working just fine.

Just well my opinion. Switch to firefox.

I have Firefox. This was merely an operator error problem that I figured out for myself.

The Mfgr responded today with the following:

Jim,

Yes, there is a new option. It may have asked once if you'd like to allow
starting IE, and the default is to block IE if you cancel out of that box.
Anyway, we should be addressing this in the next update.

The new tab 'No Ads' in the 12-Popup settings will probably list one or more
programs in the 'Blocked Programs' list. Just double-click some or all entries
to add them to the 'Allowed to start IE' list. Click Apply.
