12 min XP Boot??

My old laptop - Dell Inspiron 600m (1,5G PentiumM, 1GB DRAM, XP Home) has never been a screamer, but recently, it's super slow booting up. I installed Soluto and it takes 12 minutes to boot!

I've run superantispyware and Malwarebytes and found nothing. Ran CCleaner and defraggler (5% defrag).

Looking at the Soluto output everything is taking forever to load. AVG is taking 185s to load, I've got 18 apps in the potentially removable - 2:20 and 27 apps in the cannot be removed list - 9:02.

Safe mode boots in about a minute.

Any ideas?

 

I've looked through the list using Soluto and don't see much that I'd pull out.

The weird thing is that it used to take 3-4 minutes and I've not installed anything new.

It appears AVG 2011 is doing something which dramatically slows down boot. Removing AVG dropped me to a 3 minutes... Guess I shouldn't have updated to the latest version...

So I'm going to move to Avira Antivir and use that instead.
