Sorry but I didn't know where to ask! I received a call with this number as the caller ID where the person said, "this is a courtesy call to our Windows customer". The caller proceeded (with a very think Indian tongue...no insult intended) to explain that my computer may be infected and he needed access to see how bad the infection may be.

I refused and he insisted that I give him a more convenient time to allow him onto my computer. The question is; has anyone else received such a call?

It reads like a scam that's been happening for some months now - the call comes in via Skype or other VOIP service that means that they're virtually untraceable.

It's a scam to get you to purchase crapware programs, iirc.

Have never known of Microsoft calling about Windows?
Also, how could they tell if you were infected? Monitoring everybody?
    SCAM.

Thanks everyone, google was not helpful, but I knew MG was where I'd find my answers.
