OS: XP Pro, SP3. I thought I had just one anti-virus program, Avast, but when I turn it off and check Windows Security Center, it states "Threatfire reports it is up-to-date and virus scanning is on. This is a PC Tool product but I'm just running their firewall and have deleted their anti-virus program. Is this a problem since you recommend just 1 anti-virus program? If so, how do you terminate "Threatfire".

Threatfire without PC Tools Antivirus is not a true full blown antivirus program. It is designed to work with antivirus programs. See this http://www.threatfire.com/ which will show you performance of a few products when using Threatfire to enhance their protection.
