Yeah, im looking at trucks again. They have insane discounts right now plus I have a good rebate built up on my GMcard. I really like the 1500 ext. cab model. Pretty sure Im just gonna go with 2wd instead of 4wd, trying to keep the cost down. I was just wondering if anyone has one that has any kind of weird problem. You know something engine related, brakes related that kind of thing. I know that any new truck is going to have a few problems here and there like door seals or whatever....

    Thanks guys.

Hey man, I know a couple of people who have bought one( one is the 4x4), they are happy, but they admit they have only had them for a short while( still giddy with the new car smell) so it's too soon to tell.
They were happy with thier previous Chevy trucks, thats why they decided to be return buyers :)

My Dad has an Extended cab Silverado 4WD. I forget what year, but it's only a couple of years old. It was fine until around 60k when the alternator went and he had some problems with the fuel injection. They were both under warrenty. Other than that, I think he's pretty pleased with it.

I'm sure they're probably updated for '05, so those things may have been improved.

Google for forums dedicated to Chevy trucks. They have them for sure. They even have forums for my ugly-mobile- Pontiac Aztek. The forums tell all the bad. Made me skittish to drive mine sometimes. But, it will alert you to the things that may go wrong, like BCM (Body control modules) and ABS systems. Electronics were not meant to be jolted up and down like on a road surface. The newer vehicles are more electronic, so these systems sometimes do fail.

On the other hand, nothing rides like the newer GM trucks. They are as smooth as a Buick used to ride. I guess you are not worried about mileage since you are looking at 4WD and crew cab.

Caltrans sells these from time to time..... Just kidding, dude. :)
