    Perhaps one thing you can try is the below:
    • Determine what your current Windows XP activation key is.
    • See if you can borrow a Windows XP Pro CD from a friend.
    • Reinstall Windows scratch.
    • Use your own activation key not your friends to reactivate Windows.
    • Then download and install any additional drivers/software you need,
