2k key

    ok this one is just on the line of bad stuff.....

    I need to reinstall xp (bad hdd drive) so i put the cd and i get "Ntkrnlmp.exe Could Not Be Loaded. The Error Code Is 7" so after a day off Google-ing I try to install 2k and up date to xp!! I have the xp key but no 2k key. so any help is +1000 but i know how big of a no no this is next to so......

    Hi

    Try resetting your BIOS to default and make sure date and time is correct (also make a note of the settings before setting the BIOS to default), reasoning behind setting to defaul is old settings from previous drive could be there.

    Double check cabling to the HDD.

    Is this XP CD a retail one or burned one, use original over a burned/backup.

    At what point does this message popup immidiatly or at a later stage, if past the Press F6 to load SCSI/Raid Drivers then did you hit F6 and add your Raid/SATA drivers to be installed?

    first thing i did was to check bios and the HDD (its a laptop so cabling is ok)
    the drive is fine i can put it in any other system and load xp to it.

    it pops up right after the f6 msg its an ata(aka ide) drivre

    I'v hit f6 and get the msg, hit f7 and get the msg, hit ever key i can and get the msg, hit my head on the keys..... same msg :cry
