2nd Reformat!!!

Hey guys, since about a month ago my computer has been acting funny. Whenever I hit certain keys, such as C, my web page will refresh. Other times, hitting a certain key will trigger certain programs to open, such as the microsoft speech program under control panel. As you can imagine, this makes me computer virtually useless. To remedy the problem I bought an external hard drive to store my clean data while reformatting the original hard drive. Long story short, after the second reformat the computer still experiences the same problems (i.e. random program opening when keys are pressed). This is quite frustrating considering I formatted hard drive twice and have not even plugged in the external hard drive. This leads me to believe the virus has somehow corrupted my BIOS. According to housecall, I had a trojan or two before the reformats. Norton does not come up with anything. Now everything is supposedly clean but the problem persists and I really do not want to buy a new motherboard. I thought about upgrading the bios of my motherboard but Intel's website does not offer any upgrades for my two year old motherboard, HELP.

 

Sorry, somehow your thread got overlooked. I'm not sure your problem is Malware related; but you may want to do the scan in our Read ME and post teh logs. I'll take a look and see if there is something there.

* Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:
