This might be a little long-winded so bear with me. I have a Dell Dimension 4600 intel Pentium(r) 4. 2.8 Ghz hard drive, Windows XP (service Pack 2). I just bought NHL 06 and went to install it, and i got this error message: "Your 3D accelarator card and/or your video card could not be intialized properly. Please update the drivers for your 3D and/or video cards. I have an Intel(r) 82865G Graphics controller and I talked to one of the founders here and he said that one would make for horrible gameplay, so he recommended downloading an Intel Graphics Media Accelarator Driver, which I did. However, on installing that, I got THIS error message: "One or more files that are required for installation are either missing or corrupt. Setup will exit." Now this driver only works w/ certain Intel chipsets that I apparantly do not have and need to upgrade to these I'm assuming. They include Intel(R) 855GM, 852 GM, 855GME 852GME, 910GL EXPRESS, 915GV EXPRESS, 945GV EXPRESS, 915G AND 945GM. I'm very much a novice at this and hope someone can help me as to where to find these (if this is indeed what I need). I've have the computer about 18 months. Thanks everyone

Upgrading chipsets is not all that easy. They're usually soldered to the motherboard. I would try to upgrade the motherboard, if anything. Unfortunately, Dell likes to try and make their machines so that you can't do anything with them, but rather have to send it to them. (for a nominal FEE of course)

Try downloading and installing the drivers again, or from another source. That's the easiest, cheapest step to try. The problem you describe doesn't sound like its really related to the chipset, but rather a poor download.

Intel integrated graphics suck, you should upgrade, does your pos dell have an agp or pci-e slot? if so i would reccomend upgrading to a 6600gt or if you are on a budget a 6200. if not, you are screwed, you can get a pci card like the 5200fx but that really isn't a very good card, I doubt you can get a 6200 in pci but you could look it up.
