Is the Window 7 Firewall good enough that i dont need to worry about a 3rd party software firewall ?
    I am also behind a router .
    :confused

Yes. I have networking problems with two different 3rd party software firewalls ive used .
That's why i was considering just dropping the 3rd party FW and relying on the router and windows 7 FW to protect me .
If anyone else has an opinion, Id be glad to hear it !

The NAT firewall in my router works just fine. I use only the Windows firewall (2 Vista, 1 XP) on my home PCs though I have Comodo firewall on the laptop as it has occasion to move beyond the protection of my router's firewall. The hardware firewall does a fine job of keeping out trouble and doesn't eat up computer resources.

Im not really looking for more options, im looking for protection, and no interference with my networking .

He said there were "more options" .
This does not make a better firewall, in my opinion, but if it works for him, more power to him .
Still looking for more opinions .

Take your pick - I'd go with Comodo.

Go through this as well. It's a question of choice.

I agree with DLS and Just Playin - if you're behind a secured router on win 7 and Vista I'd go with the inbuilt. Otherwise the choice yours, plenty of free ware on MG.

None will do justice if not well trained..

    Cheers..

I had too many issues with the Comodo Firewall .
    I have Zone Alarm free.
I think for now what ill do is, when im doing things that Zone Alarm interferes with, ill just disable it, and when im not doing those things, Ill have it running.
Seems like a reasonable way to do it .
Thanks for all of your input .

Personally I use COMODO (caps theirs) instead of the built-in windows firewalls, although I had no idea that Windows 7 had the advanced configuration options.

My recommendation to you would be to try a spell on the Windows firewall, then disable it and try COMODO. Compare them and see which you prefer.

On a purely security level, they should not have much to do if behind a router/NAT firewall, but it is worth the extra protection sometimes.
