56k modem as a phone

hi i think i posted this but i cant find where i posted it so maybe i didnt end up posting it :S well anyway

i was wondering if i put a 56k modem in my computer and a phone line into the modem and some softwere on my comp could i use my comp as a phone like a land line phone? bnot like fire fly but just as a nornal fixed phone, is there any softwere that will let me use my mic and headphones and modem and crap to let me use my pc as a phone?
