64-bit

    just making sure, but all programs work on vista 64-bit in your malware guide?

    i wouldnt have to install them in the specific 32 bit programs folder?

    do i just follow all instructions as stated or would there be an exception of some sort?

    Not everything in the READ & RUN ME supports 64 bit versions of Windows. ComboFix will not run at all. MGtools says it does not support it but will produce some logs that could be of use to it can be run anyway. And I do have a 64 bit version of GetRunKey.bat which is part of MGtools. We can use it later if necessary.


    I believe the below all support x64:
    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    • Spybot
    Are you having malware problems? If so, you should decribe them.

    hm...thats a put down..=[

    well i think i may be infected because my browser was slow at one point due to a possible internet hyjacking site(you know the look a like sites), thought i exited before it could finish loading and my browser doesnt lag now.

    also i had crashes in the control panel though once again is resolved.

    and svchost.exe is always a troublemaker if it uses any cpu, and im always suspicious of it being infected. recently it kept spiking in activity.

    now my computer seems fine but i have enough experience to believe i have a virus..plus my son is an aggresive downloader though i trust him, but you never can be too careful.

    The only way we can advise you any further is by having you run thru all of the cleaning procedures. Skip ComboFix. And attach the requested logs. Some of what you are mentioning do not necessarily have to be malware related.
