Alright lemme first off tell u my specs.
    P4 2.8ghz HT
    Radeon 9800XT
    1 gb PC-3200 PDP
    Audigy 2 ZS
    Asus P4SD-VX

I was wondering if I'll see a good boost if I were to replace my 9800XT with a 6800 GT? Also I see so many different types of 6800 GT. Which one do u guys recommend? I was thinking the Asus 6800 GT. Also how good of a PSU u need for a 6800 gT?

You will definitly see a speed boost. I went from a 9800Pro to a regular 6800, and i was floored with the difference! Asus is a reliable brand, so is PNY, and Leadtek.

Alot of people think they need a 600W PSU to have enough power to run there system. This is really not true. I used an online wattage calculator, and found out my system uses under 300W.

I think you should be safe with at least a 350W PSU. Make sure it is made by a well known manufactor. I once had a 420W no name brand PSU, and it blew on me.

Good names are Thermaltake, and Antec.

All you have to do is open up the side of your case and, it should tell you the manufactor, voltages, and total wattage, at least.

don't forget fortron. they're probably the best and cheapest (pricewise) you can find. you can find their psu's at newegg.

as for the speed boost, you will definitely see one, of course, but the main question is: is it really worth spending $400 for the boost? some say yes, and some say no. i'd look at the 6800gt reviews and see if you think it's really worth it first.

    Alright 1 more thing.
I was planning on to buy a new case and I saw this one http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-124-060&depa=1 or http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-147-001&depa=1 and saw both have a 400 PSU. Does that mean the case comes with a 400 PSU? If that true should I just one of thoses case since I was meaning to get one anyways if it does include a PSU since I was also thinking about buying a new PSU for the 6800GT? Also would my current PC parts it fit into the new case up top? Do I have to know anything special for swapping cases?

Both PNY and eVGA are great brands. I would reccomend them both. :)

I cant seem to get your links to work, but here is what i have to say about this.

In most cases the power supply that comes with a case is crap. Most times when i but a case with one the first thing i do is take it out, and replace it with is better quality one. Look around for the cases you want with out a powersupply. Most manufactors offer both options. Then put a little more into a more relaible PSU. Especially with the 6800GT sucking all that power. :D

Hmm alright I c. Well I decided I'm either gonna get a Thermal take W0014 Silent Purepower 480W with Black housing - Xaser Edition or Antec P4 ATX12V 400 Watt Power Supply With 2 Fans, Model "SL400" -RETAIL TX 2-Fan Power Supply. Just to make sure Those 2 PSU should be compatiable and fit in my Sony Vaio PCV-RS420 computer right?

BTW I'm gonna get the PNY 6800GT. Thanks for the help

Good choices all the way around. :) Thermaltake, and antec are the top of the line powersupplys.

I just realize that the PNY 6800Gt might not even fit in my case. So I'll have to buy a new case also...this kinda sux.

Would u happen to know whats the length and size of the 9800XT and 6800? I dont feel its even worth it anymore to buy a new case, psu and videocard. I'm gonna open up my case and see if itwould fit. If it dont fit i'm not gonna even think about buying a new case psu and 6800.
