6800XT/LE overclocking

OK overclocking freaks, I need your help. Has anyone successfully opened the masked pixel pipelines and vertex units on a geforce 6600XT or 6600LE to improve performance? I heard the cards have 16 pixel pipes and 8 vertex units but 8 and 4 of these are masked respectively. I also heard that unlocking them increased performance massively, but can cause artifacts.

 

6800's Some can, most cant, 6600's dont know

I have Leadtec 6800LE AGP, stock 8 pipes 4 vertex shaders, mine unlocked to all 16 pipe & 5 vertex shaders, no artifacts unless I unlock the 6th shader so I dont.

Interesting. What kind of improvement did you see after unlocking the pipes + shaders? (before you oc'd the card)
Also which is faster at stock speeds, the 6600GT, 6800le or the 6800xt?

 

well the 6800's are much better... i dont own one... but they are a lot better... espcially unlocked

 

Nice processor in you avatar pic I have 3 or 4 of those 486DX2 cpus, and a few 486DX4 100's. Can't for the life of me find a working mobo and what not to create a pc out of though :/ They are so old now there are usually about 3 working 486 parts WORLDWIDE on E-Bay.
