A boat, a woman, and a hornet.

A couple of weekends ago, we were at our friends Ray and Judy's cabin at the lake. We went out in their boat just to hang out. The water got a bit cold for swimming early this year so we all had regular clothes on, and weren't planning on swimming. Judy's a pretty good party girl, (I say girl but we're all in our forties), but she's quite self-concious about what people think about her. She also has an extreme fear of hornets. We started getting buzzed by one and of course it homed in on Judy. She leapt up, grabbed her fly-swatter and started flayling away. The hornet would not leave her alone so she jumped onto the back of the boat to try and get away from it. It flew out over the water, regrouped, and headed back towards her for the kill. Judy took a giant swipe at the wasp and missed. I snorted, and the rest of the group fell silent as we realized she had "crossed the line." She held her ground for what seemed like an eternity, and then with sunglasses on her head, drink in one hand, fly-swatter held high in the other, she said "Oh shit!" and plunged into the lake. She surfaced, the hornet circled her head, and left. She didn't find it as funny as the rest of us. What a great end to Summer.

Gee...I wonder if Judy is my long lost twin? But then again..I would have jumped in long before she did.. LOL

Or did it???? That depends on what the hornet's intention was. To sting her or simply get her wet....heheh

 

The hornet lived on. It wanted to. Judy went swimming. She didn't want to. Hornet 1, Judy 0.
