A Couple Acronis TrueImage Questions

Hey Guys,

I've been trying to get answers from Acronis directly, but they're a little sketchy about giving some details clearly, and I'm not getting answers to what I think are fairly simple questions.

FWIW, all system involved in this will run XP Pro/2K Pro. There's a chance of an XP Home install being involved, but not normally.

They managed to tell me that I can backup from the PC to be imaged to a server's RAID drive by mapping a network drive for it. What about restore? Ideally, I want to be able to use my IDE to USB kit to jack the target drive into the server's USB port, drop the image onto the drive, and then install the drive into it's home system and go. Can I do this? If not, what DO I have to do? Install the drive in the server to image it, then put it in the home system? Install it in the home system, and load the image over the network?

To fudge it slightly, I need to know, assuming this can be done, whether I can do this with Home, or do I need the Workstation version of True Image?

 

You know, somehow this place seems a lot less helpful the last few months. I think I'll be heading elsewhere since no one even gives suggestions here any longer. Some support forum.

 

Sorry I can't help with your problem Sidecutter, but don't slam MG, just because you did not receive an immediate reply, just bump the thread ever day or so, and someone who can help will. Your problem is kinda unique as per True Images slight help, so chill and bump your post and wait, hey we don't have ALL the answers!!!!!
