Hey all, I just installed Mozilla Firefox as I hear it works better and is less prone to Malware. My question about it is, how do I delete temp internet files? I went to the options like in IE, but didn't see anything. Also, is there a way to delete Internet Explorer from my computer? And should I do it? I didn't see it listed on the add/remove programs page. Thanks in advance for any responses!

    DO NOT DELETE INTERNET EXPLORER

Many programs rely on it and it is essentially a core component of windows.

I would advise you to use CCleaner

This will take care of all your temp files, temporary internet files, mrus and other 'crap' that clogs up your system

Go to Options, click Privacy tab, Cache=Temp files.

Yeah, keep IE. I still have to use it sometimes.

The place to get rid of it. Add/remove programs. Click on the left where it says
    Windows Components.

Do you mean don't delete it entirely?
I delete the shortcuts on the desktop and the shortcut pinned to the startup menu.

I'm new to firefox as well, I just installed it today.
    How is it better?
Do I need to do anything after installing it? Such as add-ons? Would it be best to?
Is the pop-up blocker automatically on?

Right, You can delete the desktop icon, and the remove this item from the start menu, but unfortunately we have to keep the IE on the machine, Windows Explorer is integrated into IE thus, if you delete it, it will screw up the Explorer Part of Windows too. It doesn't hurt to keep it on the machine, and I always keep it updated with the security updates that I think it needs not what Mr. Gates and MS thinks I need. I use Firefox 1.5.0.6 and I use FasterFox, Scrapbook, PDF Download, IE View, TabsMix Plus, and Download StatusBar, they all make the everyday Puting thing a comfort. I have tried many Browsers, All as a matter of fact, and when the night is over, FireFox Seems to Rule #1. Semper Fi All, Just my opinions.. I also use a couple of the themes to make it eye pleasing also. You can tweak it like no other, and it usually comes through for you. Check this Site, it does a good job in helping to tweak Firefox so it works Faster than before. http://www.tweakguides.com/Firefox_8.html

How do you update IE with security updates? I have never done that. Or is that the Automatic Updates?

Thanks for responding Devildog and thanks for all the info!
