A different kind of Vundo infection...

From what I read and heard, Vundo is supposed to plague your computer with pop-up ads and what-not from having the virus.

..Well however it doesn't do that for me. Infact not only that, but the ONE thing it does do is close every folder within a 5 second radius prior to when I open one. I can't use the search function on my computer, because it closes it everytime I open it. I can't open documents or anything either without it closing the folder. This is pretty annoying not being able to access any folders =/

I've also downloaded and run "VundoFix" and Virtmundobegone, but neither program can detect the virus. Fact would be I still have it, however, because anything I start up my computer windows defender detects Vundo.

When I did run VundoFix for the first time, it pulled up a .dll and there was no way of me getting on the internet, because when it was scanning it cleared my desktop and start bar, so I removed the .dll and I hope that didn't initiate some of the problems I'm having here.

As said, I can't open any folders without them closing, so if I have to have access to opening a folder to remove this virus then that isn't going to work =/ I'm on a vista O/S btw.
