A few questions that need answers

1. My IE/Firefox is lagging when I scroll. What driver do I need to d/l?

2. My CPU usage is running excessively high, when I move a window around it jumps to 100%. Any help with this?


3. Whenever I leave my computer idle for a few hours, it freezes. If I leave it for just an hr or so, it will be fine. This is probably related to the above question, something's overloading the computer. This is just from running a few progs, Limewire, IE, AIM, etc. Nothing crazy. The system idle process CPU=83. I only have 256mb of Ram (4 y/o computer)...but this shouldn't be the case.

Running "Limewire, IE, AIM" at the same time?
If you are also running firewall and anti virus...
This can be a recourse eater.
Especially the over the counter AV & firewall programs.

 

What is your processor clock speed and is it being overclocked. that could cause some instability. When you scroll IE or FF, it could be under Windows Visual effects, Right click MY Computer>Properties>Advanced tab>Performance Settings, uncheck all but Show translucent selection rectangle Smooth-scroll list boxes and Use visual styles on windows and buttons. this should smooth the scroll and decrease the processor stress some. also your visual mem amount could be lacking, for instructions on how to adjust this go to http://www.mangaforums.org/showthread.php?t=3125 so i don't have to write a novel.

 

I have Limewire PRO, and running that program on 384 MB RAM for me with nothing else open causes it to slow down. Limewire consumes alot of memory, and since you only have 256...well its self explanatory.
