A multimedia recorder to record streaming internet video?

    I was using RealPlayerOne for copying streaming video, but I never really like the program. It just seemed like too big of a program for me. I click on it and the front page always has advertisements, and recommendations for movies, I don't need that crap. This player also created some secret file that I didn't know about until it started filling up my hard drive with doubles of all my vids, every time I deleted it from the real player library it was still on my laptop. Very annoying. I could only ever get to it is by sifting through my folders from my hard drive looking for the biggest ones.

    I tried sifting through the multimedia section, but it is somewhat endless and I just don't know what to choose. Can anyone recommend a good low key freeware audio/video recorder that will allow me to copy internet sites like realplayer can?

    Give Orbit Downloader a try and its Grab++ tool can capture streaming media files, so try it on the ones you watch.

    Do bare in mind as this tool can grab all media (images and video etc) you just have to look in the list of files to download for the media files like .flv .mpg .avi etc or as its new updates add the Get It button and an FAQ HERE


    Its free so worht a try and see if it is what you want,

    Seems nice, but I have a question....It talks about using different techniques to get a faster download....Is it possible for other sites to know I am copying the video when I run this? Is it invasive? I don't know how these things work.

    Personally, I like to use some screen recorder to help me record video. It can catch everything displayed on your computer screen with high quality, so I often use it to record internet streaming video when I was browsing video website. So I can enjoy the video at will.:-D

    For those of you who don't notice, this post is like 4 months old and was buried and forgotten. Seems very suspicious to link to a program not list on MG.:major

    Hi,

    I am using this software since 1 year, it is a very good software with a very good facility to Grab streaming videos.
    But i am facing a problem with downloaded files that i.e video files opens with Jet Audio after an Error message about sound i.e:

    "Video Info:":
    XViD MPEG4, 640x480,23.976fps,717kbps
    Audio Info (**Error**):
    Audio : AC3,Stereo,48KHz,192Kbps.

    I don't know what is the reason behind this problem.
    If someone knows any solution to this problem plz reply.
