    Hello,
Jeremy here and I was hoping that you guys would be able to help me with the giant sized problem...

I dont even know where to start, but here it goes:

I bought a custom made computer about 4months ago (attached details, hopefully it works) but it didnt need a new screen yet, as i was using a 3yr old ACER 15inch.

On one fine day, my screen stopped turning on... so i called my IT tech-man who said to bring it in. He checked it out and confirmed that it was dead.
We ordered a new screen, a Philips 190CW.

The screen came in, and i plugged it in. At first the computer seemed to be running a little slow, i assumed it was because the screen was an upgrade to my old one so it was just getting used to it.
No major problems occured, i just noticed that the graphics seemed a bit worse.

The next bit gets a little foggy... but basically my computer started going downhill.

    The symptoms were:
WoW started to act funny; i would get errors and graphic problems (i wouldnt be able to see the ground or buildings). These errors only occured every once in a while at first, but i would always have to restart computer because either it would freeze or the resolution and colour settings would go to the lowest and nothing would work.

My folders on my desktop kept moving back to some wierd default which was scattered around the screen.

MSN would disconnect along with the internet much more often.

Whenever i used my keyboard (especially WoW or M. Word) i would suffer 10sec-50sec lag or errors.

All programs and all opening of folders would be much slower.

    BF2142 gets a Protection Error: Error 103.

CoD2 can only be opened in safe mode.

Black and White 2 needs to have the graphics on lowest setting.

Turning on my computer used to take a very long time.

When used my virus scanner (Trend Micro PC-cillin Internent Security 2007) it would come up with a high level problem: Windows. It would rec' that i go into safe more to find the problem.

My new screen had a pink line running down the middle of it.
    *****
I figured that the problem must have been the screen, so we returned it to find it did have a problem and it was under warranty (lucky ;)) I was given an old but reliable screen in the mean time and all was running fine for 2days...

Once again, all the same old problems started coming back. :(
My new screen came in yesterday and it was working perfectly, but in the last 5hrs, it has gone back to its old stuffy self! I am very depressed that all these problems have come back, more than ever now.

Please help my very long and painful problem and im willing to help in anyway i can.

The reason i havent gone to my IT man, is because he would need it for a week for some reason and i have too much work that i cant miss it for that long...

Thanks for reading it... i most likely went into waaaay too much detail but i wasnt sure how much you needed,
    Jeremy

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Just recently, my internet has stopped responding only on my computer, i was following instructions to open a new port in my router and now i think its blocking everything.... vent, WoW, msn, internet etc.

I am on another computer to ask this, which is fine, but i cant install the HijackThis! I think all i need to do on my router is to put it all back to defaults, but i cant access my router since the internet doesnt work, or can i?

I'm still eager to have the other problems fixed, but being able to use the internet is more important atm D:
