a problem with adobe reader solved

passing on a lesson learned [ most here probably already know]. I was having problems getting adobe reader 9 to work properly so I uninstalled using windows and when I tried to re-install it failed saying it already existed. downloaded revo uninstaller and repeated uninstall. downloaded reader again and it went perfectly. guess windows wasn't sufficient for the uninstall. I'm an old dog that is slowly learning a few new tricks. THANKS TO MAJORGEEKS.COM :wave

 

Yes, revo uninstaller can be a very useful tool for those pesky uninstall situations like you experienced with Adobe Reader.

By the way, the latest version of Adobe Reader is Adobe Reader X (10.1.1). With version 10, they began using roman numerals in their numbering scheme.

There are some good alternatives to Adobe Reader. I've been using Foxit Reader for the last year or so with Windows 7. The download file size of about 1/4 the size of Adobe Reader.

 

Well, there's a few other PDF readers that are way less resource intensive, I find Adobe Reader unnecessarily bloated. Foxit Reader is my favourite. Good rendering, quick start up too.

sumatra pdf is lighter than STDU viewer i think !! :wave

 

reader 10 is the version that started all the problems. when it would open a pdf it would not print it. couldn't even print old pdf's stored in my documents. once I got rid of reader 10 and the older version reinstalled. printing was back to normal. If I have issues in the future will definitely use something other than adobe
