A quick question regarding Apple's Quicktime & file corruption.

Hi,
I was reloading a few last Apps after nuking my system, recently. I had had Quicktime before. I wanted to try Real Player this time. I didn't like the way it installed @all. So, I uninstalled it after it gave me difficulty playing the first vid I picked to try it with. I then installed Quicktime again. I only had two vids loaded @the time. They're both screwed up now(?!). They look like a spider's eyes when you open it (several little partial views comprising the screen). The original vi dfiles were on a flash drive. I think thew flash drive was plugged in when Quicktime asked me if I wanted to revert my vids to use w/Quicktime. I had clicked "Yes." I tried deleting the vids from the HHD, & reloading them from the flash drive. They're still messed up.

1) Did I somehow corrupt the original files on my flash drive?

2) Can I somehow salvage my sentimental vids? Or, are they now a memory?

If you have access to another PC with Quicktime installed, insert the USB flash drive into it and try to play the files. If they play, it pretty much rules out file corruption and focuses the issue on the playback software.

My advice is to download/install Advanced System Care Free and, in its "toolbox" section, use the software uninstaller to thouroughly remove both Quicktime and Real Player (plus run the "deep scan" option to clean up the registry). Once done, reinstall Quicktime and see if it solves the problem.

I would use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall programs thoroughly.
And the mentioned program would not slow your computer.
