This is probably a dumb question but my PC didnt come with an installation CD.Instead it has a recovery partition on the hard drive.I also took the opportunity to make a Recovery CD with software supplied on the PC.
My question is, is it a mere "Boot Disk" Ive created or does it hold the full XP?
And what is the difference between Boot and Installation disks?

It is merely a boot disc you have created for recovery of your OS when problems occur and you are unable to boot it from your hard drive, as opposed to the installation disc which installs the OS on your hard drive in the first place......

    I hope this makes sense!

Well a boot disk will do many things depending on what type it is. Have a read of this for some eg's

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...oot+Disk&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title

As for the rescue disks you created, I'm afraid that depends as well. You can make a rescue disk that basicaly backs up your entire drive onto a disk or it can just contain your settings.

Got some more info on your pc, where you bought it etc. Im sure we can find out, what youve got.

That pretty much answers my question.
I just realised this should have been in the Software section.
    My apologies.
