    Hello everyone.

I'd like to thank your forum for saving my comp a few times. I decided to join your humble forums in case I have questions to ask. So anyways...

I just got rid of this .sqm problem thanks to Shadow_Puter_Dude's guide here. I was wondering if where these .sqm files came from.

I have this file on my desktop that I can never delete. I've tried using Pocket Killbox to no avail. A few days ago, I also received this Windows Live update and ever since then there have been these pop ups appearing. I think it's also causing my Drive C to fill up.

    Please help.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

What file? What pop ups? If you suspect it is malware related:

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

Well, there's hasn't been any changes to my laptop lately. I did a scan with my anti virus and found three Trojans. I did a second run and there wasn't anything. Right now my laptop is running smoothly except there's still one thing bothering me.

Is the WINDOWS folder supposed to be over 15 GB? If so, what files do you suggest I remove and if this might be a virus, what actions can I take?
